“Body Condition of our Females”
If you attended the 2022 National show and saw Mark Reed’s Devons at A Thousand Hill Acres you saw Devon cows in excellent condition for maximum reproduction and production. We are going to have discussion surrounding fertility, milk production, calf production, and birth weights. A.J. O’Neil and Darren Jones will be co-hosting the conversation with Mark Reed, and Jeremy Engh. We will display pictures of cows in different body conditions and get feedback from our panelists, hosts, and audience. The Red Devon community continues to expand and we would love all our members to feel welcome to take part in this discussion. Share mistakes and obstacles you have been able to overcome.

“Handling calves at Birth”
Host Christian Ramsburg and Speaker Darren Jones. Darren (Veterinarian with Sterner Veterinary Livestock Professionals) will be discussing with us practices we can do to give our calves the best chance to become the next foundational herd sire or cow. Darren and Christian will be discussing preventative action we can do to give our calves success, as well as actions after birth for calves. We will discuss indicators of unhealthy calves and antibiotics or vitamins that can cure common illnesses. If you have been wondering if you are doing the right regimen for your calves , come listen to Darren’s professional opinion.

“Finishing Quality Cattle”
Host A.J. O’Neil and Speaker Doug Russell will discuss methods and nutrition to finishing quality carcasses. An important segment of this webinar will be surrounding stored feed. Doug will help us analyze our forage reports. What are the important numbers and baselines we need to have for weaned calves, stockers, brood cows, and finishers. They will discuss feed, time, fat indicators, and finishing steers vs heifers.

“Celebration of 400 years with American Milking Devon Assocation”
Host A.J. O’Neil and speakers John Hall (President of American Milking Devon Association) and Jeremy Engh (President of Red Devon USA) will discuss vital important moments of history of Devon Cattle. John’s knowledge of the history of Devon cattle is captivating. John works closely with the Livestock Conservancy to insure purity, accuracy, and preservation of Devon Cattle. John and Jeremy will discuss past history of Devon cattle as well as how we are going to celebrate together in 2024 at the World Devon Congress Tour. They will discuss ways you can be involved in helping to support both organizations.
